The Tizi n'Tichka pass is a well-maintained paved road, though it does feature numerous hairpin bends and significant altitude changes. Our chauffeurs drive this route regularly and handle it with complete confidence. In winter, occasional snow may require chains, which our vehicles carry as standard.
We strongly recommend splitting this journey over two days. An overnight stop in Ouarzazate or the Dades Valley allows you to visit Ait Benhaddou, explore the Dades Gorge, and arrive at the Sahara dunes refreshed for sunset. We can arrange accommodation at carefully selected hotels along the route.
Ideally, we plan your arrival for late afternoon, allowing time to transfer to your desert camp and begin a sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. If departing Marrakech early morning, a single-day drive can achieve this timing, though a two-day journey with a stop offers a more relaxed experience.
